Requisite Organization / Stratified Systems Theory

Very briefly Requisite Organization is about the additional value to be provided by each level in an organization. This has consequences for organizational design, the work of each manager and for the required capacity of the manager.

One of the best introductions to the framework is Requisite Organization by Elliott Jaques. A short introduction is available online in Art Kleiners article published in Strategy+Business, Elliott Jaques levels with you.

Many of Elliott works has influenced the feedback instrument as well as his thoughts on context setting learned during personal talks. Elliotts former colleagues, Judy Hobrough and Jeremy Preedy, at Brunel University have described The tripod of work, which also has had a great influence on my instrument.
